What pants to buy for IB?

Hey Monkeys,

I’m looking into buying some pants for IB and was curious what most people wear: Chinos or Dress Pants. Do lulu pants work in the office or is that too informal/a Friday thing?

Also do people wear jackets every day to work or just leave a navy blazer in the office Incase you need it. Thanks!

lulu pants are equivalent to Jeans IMO - unless people are wearing those on Friday's, I'd avoid them.

You are best off buying a few pairs of decent italian wool dress pants or similar - there are a ton of options out there - and that will take care of it. The other option is to buy suits and wear them without the jacket... or buy extra pairs of pants and that solves it.

In our office, we can generally get away with chinos regularly and jeans on Friday's - so we are pretty casual with teh exception of client engagements or work.

I think my work dress code is a bit more relaxed than IBD. However, if you're into the comfort of ABC's from Lululemon like I am, State and Liberty has some awesome stretch suits, jackets, and pants that I wear if we have meetings w/ PortCos. Their shirts are great too.

Just as a warning, their clothes are made for athletic body types.

I swear by suitsupply. Generally spend a lot on outside of work clothes but suitsupply does the job for good fit and decent quality rather than going for anything on the pricier side for day to day wear when you're behind a screen most of your worklife
