what to wear to an informal coffee chat with analysts

I'm starting an internship at a BB this summer and have planned to meet an analyst at the firm casually for coffee before the start date. I'm just wondering what is the appropriate attire to wear, would it be strange to come in a suit if I haven't started working there yet. But i think that it is probably a little inappropriate if I turn up in casual clothes. This is in London btw. Thanks in advance!

Youll be fine with the above advice (if you have a nice coat than its fine instead of a blazer) but personally I always wore a suit for anything when I was all in the networking buzz, maybe ditched tie if I was trying to be casual. No one will ever think less of you for putting on a suit, sometimes they'll make a joke that you didn't have to wear one but everyone will notice and appreciate the little extra effort you put in to show respect for the time they've given you. And all it takes you is an extra minute to put it on. Honestly, I got so many comments from people a while after our first meetings once our relationship developed that they appreciated I always showed up in a suit looking neat and tidy. In sum, look neat and tidy, conservative colours and patterns, shave or trim beard, do your hair, have a collar, you'll be fine, if in doubt overdress instead of underdress. ta
