Imo some of the ladies cartier watches go quite cheap and are extremely timeless in design. Something like a tank is really nice. Afaik, JLC also do a ladies version of the reverso which is an excellent piece. They're both more of an art Deco look if that's what you're into.

Rolex datejusts are great too and they can be found a bit cheaper in the smaller ladies sizes.

Nomos produces some lovely ladies watches and their designs (like the datejust) are quite unisex in nature. They are also pretty cheap new (~2-4k USD).

It probably goes without saying that it's good to avoid anything too flash in your first year or so. I would probably wait until you're working and then gauge what the culture is around watches at your office (are they prolific or is it more of a seniors only thing)
