Background Check Wording

I will have to fill out an application for a BB in a few days. I was arrested for a misdemenor over 8 years ago. As far as the law is concerned the offense was 'dismissed and sealed'. It was for less than a gram of marijuana.

Can anyone help me articulate how I should word this transgression on my application? I was looking for exact phrases or wording the would alleviate some of the possible worry associate with the crime.

Thanks

Exactly as you've described it. Arrested in 200X / 199X for possession of marijuana. Offense was since dismissed and sealed. Keep it simple, stupid.

Are you kidding? Leave it off. Also, sealed and expunged are two different things, make sure it is expunged.

Ya it actually makes more sense to leave it off altogether. The case was sealed so in a way it never happened. Leave it off.

If the application asks you "have you been convicted of a crime" then put no and don't think twice. If the application asks you, have you ever been arrested , then you would put yes and explain all charges were dismissed. I had a similar thing, not with marijuana, and that's the advice my lawyer gave me. I was living in Connecticut at the time, so it could vary by state.
