I would assume so? As far as I know most of the companies on the Street drug test. Now if they care about the results or not... that might be a different topic lol

Actually just dug out a template for this very purpose. Here you are my friend:

Hi (insert HR rep),

I hope all is well. I'm an incoming summer analyst in Guggenheim's (group name/whatever). With this year's atypical weather patterns agitating my seasonal affective disorder and 4/20 being only a few short months away, I'm very interested in learning more about Guggenheim's policies surrounding substance use and testing.

More specifically, I would like to know if Juggenheim requires drug testing. If so, my continued acceptance of your offer will be contingent on a few key issues. For one, I am unable to submit a sample anytime before March 1 or after April 1st until May 5th. Additionally, I will need to choose the method and process of testing (i.e. LabCorp, Walgreens AtHome test, etc.).

Thank you for your time in resolving these issues for me, I look forward to your reply. Happy Holidays!

Haha you should follow trader timmy's template.

But in all seriousness, whatever you do, do not ask directly about a drug test. Something you can do is say "Hi, as I am preparing for my internship at Guggenheim this summer, I want to make sure I have completed all the necessary administrative requirements, such as transcript releases or background checks, etc."

Maybe they'll say you need a drug test but in all honesty, I'm sure you can find it in yourself to not smoke for a few months.

At what point in ones life do you finally realize your opportunities are more important than doing illegal drugs? I mean, I feel marijuana should be legal but it is what it is.

Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.
