Why are people in RE IB so different
I’ve met with probably close to a hundred people among institutional firms in the last month between mega funds and smaller boutique capital markets teams networking for an analyst role. All are usually extremely good EQ and helpful beyond what they need to be. However, every person I’ve met in RE IB has been extremely egotistical or short sighted. Feels like they don’t see real estate in the same sense as the others? Anyone else have anything to add to this? Just seems really odd. Lots of them are OCD, no EQ, and pretty rude.
