depends on the amount of space you've been allotted
is there any way to check? I realized that I sent out a PM and I had 4 full pages for a total of 40 messages and a total of 80 for sent and received. I would have thought that I would get a response by now but I haven't and realized that I should delete some old ones.

haha I meant every single message in each direction... obviously accumulated over a long time. I have been a member for over 2 years and just never bothered to delete any.
