MAJOR UPGRADES COMING SOON!

Dear Fellow Primates,

We are finally getting there with the upgrade and new look. Although there are a bunch of old features that still need to get installed (private messaging, buddys, quotes, job module, etc.) I hope that as the new theme comes together and as you discover the new functionality of the site, you are pleased with the changes.

Over the past few months I have been working with a web developer that has been busting his butt to upgrade the site to Drupal 5.2 which will have a bunch of new features that will make WallStreetOasis.com (formerly iBankingOasis.com) a more useful and fun community.

Reason for the name change: I wanted to make PE professionals, traders, consultants, etc. feel just as welcome as the i-Bankers -- who obviously still make up most of the members on the site.

I am sure that there will be a decent number of bugs and fixes that will need to happen, so if you want to post them here, we will try to get to them as soon as possible -- just know that my developer is already is working hard to get all of the old features installed and continue improving the look...so it might take a few weeks (Thanks Vincent!).

Please be patient and thank you for your suggestions and help working the kinks out. check back as more features continue to be added.

there is still more work to be done on the theming including the font colors, fixing the nav bar with primary links (will have a Search box imbedded)...also putting in a nav bar for secondary links with other new features.

your buddylist and invite module should be working now.

still left: -rankings -job module -more theming -other cool modules (images, videos, etc.)

ghoshtthe reflection from the oasis pictures above make it hard to read stuff thats up there....

agreed. is there any way to separate the words from the background because the first posts are hard to read and easy to accidentally skip over. thanks for all the work though, seems on the right track.

hey guys, thanks for the input. i definietly agree with you as well. the forums still need a lot of theming and need to be made more readable. my web developer is working to get all of the functionality up and running first and then address the theming issues...but keep the comments coming.

The shades of blue theme for titles and links is nice and readable for me.

I use a 12" notebook and the top 2/3 of the page is wasted on pictures of the Palm Springs. Could you compress the layout to get more content 'above the fold' ?

seitys, what did you search...the search module seems to be working well on my end, pulling up a large # or results for various keywords.

thanks. please forgive me for how the sites look while it is still under construction. we're getting there, but there is SO MUCH more that will be offered in terms of functionality, etc...and needs to be done to clean up the look.
