Along with some other improvements to the @mention feature, yesterday we also pushed a new notification for when you are rewarded a silver banana, you get a PM that shows you the thread where you were rewarded (or hit if it was a monkey shit)...
We hope this will increase the real time nature of the site and let you know quickly what content members appreciate and what content we could do without.

Cool stuff, pretty soon you're going to bring King Zuk to his knees. All hail the overlords of WSO. I was against the changes at first but I've come around to enjoying watching the site get built out.
Suggestion: could you parse the notifications and messages? I store some messages for future reference, and I have to constantly clear out my inbox so the notifications don't clog it up completely.
Suggeston 2: can you give the option to show more inbox messages? I like that you've expanded it past 10, just curious if you could give the option to pull 25, 50, 100 etc
To take ufos idea a bit further it would be easier to batch the entire days ms and sb into one notification. Like a summary.

Just so you guys know (this is what I do): I do a keyword search for "you were quoted in" if I want to get rid of all the notifications for quoted emails, check the box on each page and hit delete. Took about 90 seconds for ~180 messages.
so in making the change with the silver banana and monkey shit notifications, we knew that there was the possibility that members would have at least a few more messages per day. That is why we increased the inbox size from 10 to 25 messages and gave it the full width of the screen... so it's much easier to clean and filter in bulk.
We could increase it to 50 or 100, but I thought 25 was a good number since it doesn't require a lot of scrolling (if any) and allows you to filter and mass delete a lot of the same types of messages at the same time...
I think it would be cool to batch the SB & MS messages like @"heister" suggests, that is just a lot harder to do given how the rules and triggers work in the back end. I'm not saying we can't do that in the future, just that we have moved on to some other priorities like getting the Work Theme released today (hopefully)...

Just throwin' this out there, but it would be awesome to have an "unfollow" button for a thread. Say you just posted a brief comment but later the thread blows up to a huge size but you don't have any interest in the thread. Would be nice to "unfollow" it.

@WallStreetOasis.com .... I only get the notification once. Any subsequent SBs (even those from different posts) don't send the notifcation. Not sure if this is an error or what.
just checked this...i checked your user account and it looks like you have all types of PMs turned off...

You can see all the types near the bottom and decide which PMs you want....not sure why the SB/MS PMs werent selected by default, but will look into it.
