Showing your school

This isn't a suggestion but a question ( i wasn't sure where to post). im pretty new to the site and was wondering why people don't put what school they attend "i go to an ivy" or "think uva/mich/usc" and also why people don't state where they work? " think gs/ms" Sorry, im still a noob

if i told you someone went to Princeton with a 3.85 GPA in Econ and is now a 2nd year analyst at GS in Healthcare, you could pretty easily figure out who that is provided you knew the right people. People want to remain anonymous here.

NOTE: The above scenario is completely made up and any coincidence to a real person is purely unintentional.
