It's mainly a weekend thing when Patrick and Andy probably don't watch the site too close. Give 'em a break.
I think the issue could be solved if someone wrote an algorithm where "2 banana points" + "Flag Post" = Automatic IP ban. Rather that than the mods having to confirm whether or not they really are spam.
Good point, and yeah my bad I didn't mean to sound like I'm blaming Patrick/Andy. I think your idea makes sense, though you'd probably want to have it take more than 1 "Flag Post" to trigger the ban.
Great idea...we are having some spam issues temporarily bc one of our filters was blocking new users that werent spam so we had to remove them. They havent responded to support requests so we are going to try another system.
In the meantime, we will make the flagging / block IP/user and mod system more automated like you suggest...I think we'll make it if any user with under 10 bananas gets 2 flags, they are auto blocked and all their posts are auto-sent to trash bin. That way, if I'm away or Andy is for a weekend the community can still effectively moderate by flagging spam shit.
