yes, that is what mollum is. for Admins and Mods, they will see a "report to Mollum" on every piece of content now to report spam.
and yes, that is occasionally why you might have to enter a captcha - although it should only happen when you are typing something spammy. supposedly it is a pretty sophisticated spam blocker but if it starts forcing you to enter captcha a lot please let me know. I think it is supposed to "learn" over time.
As long as it doesn't become self-aware and swear to eradicate all human life then that's pretty cool.
