Okay rant but why is it, that some days on here I’ll have this nice comment all thoughtfully written out, and I hit “post” and it says comment failed?? Also, why can I not delete one word from a sentence without the cursor going all the way back to the end of the next word so I have to hit space again? Also why have we lost the ability to make lists?? This post would be much easier to read if I could hit enter to create a space to separate my ideas? What’s happened here? Love the app and a great community, (wouldn’t be in banking without it!) But what’s up with the technical issues

Because every six months WSO’s site admins change how the site works and somehow manage to make it more convoluted. I’d be amazed if anyone fully understood the spaghetti that holds this place together, especially on mobile. At least half of it was probably vibe-coded with ChatGPT, along with the amusingly fickle automod.
I’m old as shit, but message board design was more or less fully optimized in like 2000-2001, for reference. Reddit has been around since the 2010s. Yet here we are, in 2025, unable to quote a thread’s OP because the quote function isn’t set up for that anymore…

No, we've created this mess old-fasioned way by our hands. Can't be sure about the mobile app though, as different team (of 1 guy) works on it. The most of the code of WSO was written before the ChatGPT was a thing.
Was removed during the redesing I believe, shouldn't be a big deal to add it back I think, will add it to a backlog.

Hey man - wrote this last night and had all of the issues that I described above within about 5 minutes of each other.
Now the issues seem to be fixed! Didn’t update the app (it was updated 5 days ago) but something certainly changed! Thanks for the help here
