I thought it might be more fun if we added some of the Wall Street type of rankings to WSO's rankings, such as:

25,000 - 29,999 WSO Managing Director

Nice thought although some of those higher rankings are unnecessary right now. I crank withthe posts and I am only at 6k. Other than Eddie, most people are at 3-4k. Maybe in a couple years.

Not a bad idea, but don't think it will work. Mostly because you would have Anthony (who leads bananas and SB) being a WSO intern---doesn't sound like his real rank, where as the current system has a clear progression of seniority with its names. If anything should be done, Patrick should tighten the spreads near the top.
WSO is about more than just investment banking. The title progression you laid out is the progression for bankers. VC/PE/S&T/etc. have completely different promotion paths and therefore using IB titles would be foolish. Also -- you'd confuse the heck out of people who came to the site and saw someone was a "WSO Intern" when in reality they were one of the most frequent posters on the site.
Finally -- I agree with Gekko about tightening up the top ranks. I've gathered 3,000 bananas over 4+ years and I'd say that I'm a pretty active contributor. It shouldn't take someone 10-20+ years of active contributions of WSO to hit only a moderate level on the banana rankings. I'd like to see more jumps in the 500 - 1,000 banana range (cause lets face it, getting your 3,000th banana is just as difficult as getting you 1st!). Maybe the following: for now with an expectation to enhance the upside in a few years when the limit is hit:
