thumbs up/down on comments
Not sure if this has been mentioned before but I think it'd be really nice to have a thumbs up / down system to help us sift through long threads on this forum.

You mean like princetonfml.com? I think that could work nicely... But that would kind of belittle the banana system they've got going here, which I think works fine too.
oh I see... shit n bananas aren't good enough for you huh? psssh
but seriously, do you not know about that or do you just want something like that that doesn't cost you credits?
You can also rate a thread between 1 and 5 bananas in the bottom left of the OPs post
I agree. It makes Shit/SBs more valuable because makes people think twice about giving them away. I've run out of mine already for a long time, but I still want to give feedback to posts that I think are good/bad.
I kind of like the way it is now. There are two rating methods, the 1-5 banana rating below the OP of each thread, and each individual post can either get monkey crap or SBs. The rarity of your rating makes it more worthwhile in my book.
If you want to participate in the "voting", you need to contribute to the site. Credits are extremely cheap so buy a few up and have at it.
I like the fact that the accumulation of bananas / poo is a quantifiable reflection of a user's contributions. A 'Dislike' feature would probably be useful on facebook though, I don't know why they haven't already
Sadly that's not a suggestion we can make through WSO ;)
I've got no problem with shits and bananas. Was just going through a really long thread debating some rando technical concept, and spent a lot of time reading posts from people who were wrong or misguided, and probably didn't spend enough time on some posts that were worth a second to digest.
I feel a thumbs up/down system like they have on digg would really make going through those kinds of threads easier.
