Very fair question....we brought it back "by popular demand"...tried integrating it into the forums, but then realized it was crushing our pageload speeds by having a script on every page (we could show what users were "online" vs "offline")...
So then we switched it to have it's own chat window, but people just don't see it or click on it. I'm all for killing it, but not sure if there is a better way it can be integrated to allow for more instantaneous IMs between users if we can implement it without hurting our page speed so much...
