30min interview with HF partner - what would you prepare?
I'll have tomorrow a first interview with a partner and co-manager of a multi $bn L/S global equity SM HF. I'm an analyst in a small HF (total 4 YOE, all on the buyside).
What would you prepare? Would you prepare stock pitches?
I reached out to the firm so no analyst position was officially open. I'm deep diving into 13F, story of the fund/partners, having my macro view clear, and of course have a short story about my experience.
Always have pitches just in case. Who doesn't want to talk ideas in this business?
100%. If you have to ask after 4 years in the business, don't know what to tell you..
Thanks to both. Sure I have pitches ready, I was trying to gather thoughts on how you would prepare other than more conventional stuff mentioned above. That in relation to the fact that I'll be talking directly to one of the partners, as opposed to the few interviews I had recently that were mostly with HH and analysts.
