Asking for Internship Relocation Stipend Early?

Hey all, I'm coming to WSO's help again.

I'm a broke college junior--ran away from home (family's broke too lmao), was at homeless shelters for a bit, then got a full-ride to college. I grinded in the libraries for the past three years reading every investing book I could find and landed my dream internship at a large fund in NYC

Anyway, my cheapest option is probably to get an NYU dorm, but it's about $4,500 for the summer, due at least 1-2 weeks before I move in. However, my signing bonus of $5,000 only hits the bank after my first week at the internship. Do you think it's appropriate for me to email HR and explain to them my situation in the hopes that I can get the signing bonus early? Has anyone been in/heard of such thing? I can't get a loan because I have zero credit and nobody to co-sign.

Thank you all.
