1 large fund having notable layoffs after a decade+ of relatively unremarkable performance doesn't speak to career stability in the sector. Pods have been blowing out left and right with regularity over the past few years. And at the end of the day, a SM is still a hedge fund. If your primary concern is job security while you're not a top performer putting up #s, this probably isn't the industry for you.
