you will likely be sharing a terminal at a start-up type of shop w/ 1-3 investment professionals if the AUM is relatively low

Depends, a Bloomberg terminal costs ~$20k per year per person, even for a firm with scale and dedicated Bloomberg Terminal servers. So if your firm is small, you're probably sharing (you don't really share Bloomberg Terminals, so more likely than not, you won't have access to one as a junior analyst). Even if you're at a large firm and you're a junior analyst for a PM, the budget is coming out of the PM's P&L, so it would be up to your PM. Also depends on strategy. If you're doing L/S, value investing, or a researcher do you really need a Bloomberg Terminal?

More likely than not you'll have a Bloomberg Terminal.

thinkmacro is right that it will be up to the PM... at the end of the day, everything comes out of his P&L... even his phone.... PM has to pay for his seat!!!
