Breaking into Macro

Hi WSO,
Just finished master’s in international affairs. Focused on political economy. Touched everything from trade to nuclear weapons to central banking to countries’ balance sheets to economic engines to international politics.
Last few months: studied markets and how to apply geopolitics to trading/hedge funds.
Background:                                                                                                                                             3 years policy work in economics + defense
Skills: geopolitical analysis, forecasting, big-picture thinking
Studied basic financial modeling (know the concepts) but can’t crank out DCFs all day. Way more interested in macro and econ.

Built a simple framework to connect policy events to market impact.
**Looking for:**
Global macro role at hedge fund
Geopolitical advisory at BB or bank
Macro research
Trading seat (macro/commodities/FX)

**Need help:**
What problems do financial institutions actually have that someone like me can solve?
What should I build to prove I can fix those issues?

Open to hedge funds, banks, or trading firms.

DM me if you can help. Thanks.
