Can you become a quant without a relevant internship?
I have been applying for internships for quant roles with no success and was wondering if this will hurt my graduate scheme applications next year. I will be finishing my masters’ and the plan is to get into quant finance (research/trading/analyst) but given my lack of a relevant internship I’m afraid that I will not be considered for these roles. Is it still possible to get an entry level quant position after graduation if I have internships in other fields (eg. scientific research, data science, engineering)?
