Credibility is quite subjective... small HF are historically performing better than large ones.
I believe that a decent AUM (over the yard mark), repeatable strategy and track record is enough.
Big brand names aren’t as valuable as before
I’m cheering for him/her, I hope they crush it. Way better than modeling to 2am for 20 years. Sales careers are very underrated.

Is this cap intro or IR for a particular fund? Either way, that’s great comp and I’d say take it (and make sure there isn’t a catch)
It’s a sales position for a $1bn HF
Take that 110% Sales or sourcing roles are the way to go.
Feeling totally confident to knock at the door pitching the fund to investors, but realistically thinking about what could be the challenges / targets to raise capital for a 1yard fund.

Have two buddies that have made a killing does this. The first started as a HH, then just started brokering fund raises for quant guys instead of placing them elsewhere. Pretty sure he's clearing a couple mill a year. Second found a fund with really high performance back in the early 2000's and basically took partial ownership and then took AUM from low 8 figures to high 9 figures-- he's retired now.
No clue what offers look like, but I know if you're good a networking and IR stuff in general then is a lucrative path.
