that is exactly the point, never said they were the same lol - OP said "Completely disrespectful towards Julian Robertson and everything he built to invest like Coleman" so thought it was humorous

Well this teaches us many lessons. One of them about WSO. Until 3/4 months ago, it this forum was FULL of kids eating Chase’s ass and circle jerking about Tiger. Now he is laughed by all the forum. The guy is the same as 3/4 months ago, and he works in the same way. So whenever you see an opinion on here or any other places, take into account that in most cases it is based out of nothing.

Same thing happened with Melvin.  A few years ago people here couldn't get enough of the guy. Now there are entire threads here with everyone laughing at him for his incompetence

I had a coworker that worked with him. Back office and middle off Staff was told "do not make eye contact with chase". He was supposedly very very "high and mighty" from a rich blue blood background who refused to interact with anyone else outside that bubble.

Basically described him like the villian guy in titanic(Zane)

Always thought the eye contact thing was funny.

1000% real.  I used to work a middle office tech role.  I worked with a girl who did tech support for his firm.  Said he was told by the chief of staff lady that "you are not to make eye contact with him when you pass by him or enter his office"

we thought it was ridiculous and literally had chase coleman the third running jokes about him going on several years

He's made many, many prolific, career-making investments before the 2020-2022 bubble riding. He does not need to prove anybody wrong.

He's committed a fatal mistake in his VC strategy, that's for sure. Also failed to hedge his hedge fund. Like MANY other managers and MOST of the large asset managers. He deviated from biz analysis / valuation discipline to go to a liquidity-riding strategy. That does not mean he is dumb. If he really learned the lesson he is very well capable of outperforming going fwd as he did in the past. Not sure if will be sufficient to beat HWM though.
