Compensation post analyst/associate stint
First year in SS ER and I wanted to get some data points on compensation for HFs after 2 YOE, I.e. finished up a stint in IB or ER after college and first year comp joining a HF.
I know that comp data points after this are largely irrelevant since they have to do with a ridiculous number of factors that aren't standardized like PE and IB comp, but I feel like there should be some relative standard for someone just finishing an analyst program. Also if you could provide Fund Size/AUM/Strategy/previous role that would be helpful too.
Bump
Would say for a first year analyst post-IB or ER something like $125K + $100-150k bonus sounds about right for most MM teams and SM of any decent scale ($500M-$700M+).
Feel like that’s a pay cut?
Youre making over $275k as a third year ER analyst?
Bump
In a large SS/opportunistic credit fund after 2 years of EB RX experience. First full year comp was 150 base + 225 bonus, fund performance was better than market. Know similar-sized funds (10bn+) are going to be about 250-350k all in until carry hits, in which case you’ll probably be in the 500-750k range in a normal/decent year.
