Consulting requests from HFs on Twitter
I tweet a lot about companies in a specific sector as I have been a consultant in this space for a number of year.
Lately I've been getting DMs from fund managers for paid calls to discuss companies/trends.
Is this something funds do frequently? How much should I charge per call? And lastly, how can I make sure that fund managers find me more easily on Twitter?
Thanks!
Research networks like GLG, ThirdBridge, etc charge HFs $500-$1000 for 1hr so something in that range might be appropriate. I think GLG filed a proxy to go public a few years ago so you could potentially find economics there.
If people are seeking you out (and are at multibn funds), you can charge $1k.
For more exposure, consider signing up to be an expert on one/multiple third party research networks.
Good luck - if people are seeking you out, your expertise is in demand now so capitalize on it as best as you can!
