I disagree. The MD that was inquiring about a job obviously had way too big of an ego for a HF guy that just got axed. Loeb asked a very simple question, and the guy was just too uptight and obnoxious to appreciate a somewhat non-traditional approach.

And the guy was not his employee.

No offense, but you don't know what I'm referring to. I am not referring to what you are talking about. That was an exchange of e-mails. I am referring to a publicly available SDNY court opinion that involves an actual employee.
