Distressed HF - RE group, questions
Hey all,
Have come across a role as an analyst/associate with the RE group of a very large Distressed HF. Fund has a broad mandate for public and private markets, mainly various debt and structured instruments, but potential for PE type lending as well. Was wondering if anyone could shed any light on the nature of a role like this (is the work more similar to PE than my current HF role? Or neither, very RE specific? culture, etc.) and maybe any info on if exit opps down the road would be pretty RE limited or if it'd be reasonable to go into broader distressed/special sits teams.
Thanks, any info helps. Background on me: fixed income analyst, pretty quantitative, 3 years experience, mostly EM focused both IG and HY, some private credit work too but generalist for sectors.
