I'm sure I'm missing other reasons, but here are a couple.
1) Have had to look at 13 weekers against one another for variance tests - have been on a situation where the forbearance agreement required a variance of no more than x% on certain line items.
2) Can be used to understand liquidity needs / shortfalls between different restructuring paths (in- or out-of-court; free-fall, pre-pack, etc.)
3) More broadly to understand past and upcoming line items that are more material than others, timing of between receipts and services, changes in line items and why, etc.
