Do Hedge Fund Managers/Owners pay Self-employment tax on their management fees?

I know that managment fees (not performance fees) are taxed at ordinary income rates, but is this considered self-employment income and is FICA tax required to be paid?

Also, is this different from an Owner/Equity partner in the fund who receives a share of the management fees vs an individual portfolio/pod manager who gets paid a % of their PnL as a bonus?
