Does anyone work remote in HF?
Currently in ER and am able to work remote. I am finishing up a masters program and would like to bump. I don't honestly care if it is in the office or remote, am generally curious if you guys work remote or if you are in the office?
I work fully remote, but I spent my first year in the office learning our strategy.
Definitely possible if you have a history of generating PNL + run your own sleeve. Otherwise going to be a hard sell. In your case would definitely not expect to work remote, at least for the first few years.

Feel like if you’re senior and/or have a good track record then it’s not unreasonable.
My fund specifically offers this as talented PMs love this option.
I am in the office, as is my team. I totally understand the appeal of working remote and also get the arguments for it (more efficient, less BS, lot more flexibility). But, if I look back over the past 10+ years when I first started at my current fund, I will say unequivocally that I learned the most from the impromptu or random conversations that came up because I was in the office in person. Those types of conversations have gotten less relevant for me personally over time, but it's something to consider if you are starting out in the industry.
