Dress code for D.E. Shaw interview
Silly question: I'm having an interview with D.E. Shaw upcoming, and I'm wondering what I should wear. I guess a suit might indicate a complete lack of understanding of their culture?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
SA or FT?
I would wear a nice button-down, jacket and pants...but I've never interviewed with them.
...though I think it is unlikely that they have a different dress code for SA vs FT interviewees :-)
Haha, no, I was asking for my own interest...curious if they're interviewing for SA yet like some HFs are.
i say wear a suit, everyone needs to stop stressing so much about whether they think the company will see your subcommunication of lack of understanding of the culture. i highly doubt they'd say "well he graduated summa cum from stanford, interned at goldman's global alpha and apparently can build nuclear bombs. on the other hand, he wore a suit. let's cut him."
that rant was not directed towards you stabart lol.
Wear a suit.
I'd agree, you're not going to piss anyone off in any interview by possibly being overdressed. But if you show up underdressed, you might convey a lack of respect or too casual an attitude.
it's an interview. wear a suit.
FUCK! really...i have an interview with them this week and didn't bring my suit back. I was gonna wear nice khakis and a nice shirt with nice shoes...because I thought showing up in a suit wouldn't mesh well with their culture.
Gonna PM you stabart
Always wear a suit - don't look like a chump
