ECM -> HF
Will be a junior SA at a BB in ECM this summer (think JPM/BofA/Citi) and the end goal is to be at at a HF, whether that’s ECM or L/S equity. I have a passion for markets/investing and honestly love how competitive/cut throat HFs are - it fits my personality (athlete, discipline).
Do I need to lateral into coverage/M&A for full-time to even be considered at a HF? And are there really any “valuable” skills learned in ECM that are translatable to the buy-side?
