ER —> IB for HF even though I love ER
I’ve been interviewing for some ER and IB seats (lateral from ER).
In late stages to go to a better ER seat and have the opportunity for an IB analyst seat. Love ER and think my skill set is more transferable to a HF role.
Assuming I can make the jump to an IB seat (nothings certain but confident I can) is this the move? Personally I’d rather stay in ER if I can end up at a HF seat down the road, but if I have to suffer through two years of banking then so be it.
Anyone have any advice? I have an MD so want to do biotech on the buyside if that makes a difference.

There was a HF headhunter on here doing an AMA a few days ago who seemed to have some good perspective on this topic. You might want to look at that thread.
