ESL Investments
Hi WSO, does anyone know how ESL Investments has been doing and if they are still considered a good seat nowadays? What Headhunter they use, if at all? And are they still a HF or have they converted to a family office?
I know that they were legendary back in the day, and a lot of Eddie Lampert's analysts launched successful HFs of their own, such as Abrams Bison Investments (where analysts also went on to launch their own HFs like Hidden Hills), HEG Capital, as well as one of the Tiger Global and Third Point partners, among many others.
But lately, I have not heard much about them outside of the aftermath of the Sears saga.
Also, I saw on LinkedIn that some current employees have listed ESL as Lampert's family office, rather than a HF.
Am curious how they have been doing, as well as if they are still viewed as a good seat nowadays.
Any and all input would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
