Exit opps from LO AM to L/S HF?
Undergrad in college currently looking at interning at a LO AM (think Fidelity, T. Rowe Price) for my junior year summer internship in an equity research role. I'm thinking of doing L/S fundamental equity investing in the future and was wondering if starting out at a LO AM would affect my chances of doing that? I've heard they mostly recruit from top bucket IB and sell-side research and doing AM would mean you're kinda stuck in the role.
Buy side > sell-side. I will just leave it at that.
In terms of exit opps or lifestyle/comp?
I don't hear the word exit opps used a lot with buy-side. Do you?
Lifestyle / comp, yes 100% for buy-side.
I'm on the buyside.. but to give some readers more perspective, lots of sr guys getting paid well on SS too
