Few Qs for the Quants Out There

I know that I can get these answers using chat GPT, but I believe that the answers are subjective so I wanted to know the opinion of those people who are already working in this field.

I have a few questions if you don't mind

  1. Is a Ph.D. a necessity for getting into quant? If yes, then does having a Ph.D. really add any value other than getting noticed by recruiters?

  2. Which programming language do you use? What level of coding and maths is required to get into quants?

  3. Do you think that, with time money will outflow from fundamental funds (l/s equity) to quants funds? Or, do fundamental funds have their own advantages that an AI or a quant fund can never achieve?
Thanks in advance for your time!
