From HF business development to investment analyst?

Wondering whether this is comparable to middle to front office in a trading environment or if this is rather a rare path, considering that, depending on the profile, it might be easier to break in via BD and then transition

I am so interested in the role BD plays in the HF world. If talent is the real edge, then doesn't that mean BD is the one acquiring/producing edge for the HF? Right, I don't know, it's intriguing. KG mentions over and over that talent is the reason C is successful. Maybe that's why they are paid very well. If anyone works in BD, please DM me, I want to learn more about this role and the day to day operations that you guys do.
