Fund of Hedge Fund's or Product Specialist?
I have the option to join a large US manager in their Fund of Hedge Fund's team or a large European asset manager as a junior fixed income product specialist. My background is in fund/manager research.
One part of me says go with FoHF's role as it's still an active investment decision-making role, albeit at the manager research and portfolio construction level. Another part of me says go with the fixed income product specialist role because it's at the security level (i.e. not FoHF's or manager research) and you are embedded within the investment team albeit focused more on client interaction/representing the strategy/sales etc.
Both firms have good reputations and I think the base pay will likely be similar (but less worried about the money at this stage, more focused on long-term prospects/exits).
How does the pay compare?
Harum quasi sint nemo aut et qui aut. Neque ducimus sed tenetur tempore aliquam explicabo tempore.
