Going from small SM "pod" to larger SM / MM

I work in a "pod" in a small SM (me and another analyst reporting to PM, who reports to founder). My PM has done well but the fund overall not so much.

As a team, we are considering options from here. We are very insular and don't have a sense for what's out there, save the inbounds we get from HHs here and there. PM just likes investing and doesn't care about his name above the door, so we like the MM structure of centralized back office etc. But to work at one of the marquee MMs would likely not be a good fit (our style is longer term and we have less experience with active shorts).

Does an "in between" option exist, where the fund (whether SM or non-marquee MM) takes care of everything in the stack, save for investing, and where PMs aren't shoehorned into a Citadel type framework?

Also if this describes any of you reading this, I'd love to hear how you thought through your paths forward. Thanks!
