Good comp/terms for a data scientist on fundamental team
Curious if anyone has insight into how a typical 'quantamental' data scientist is comp'd at MMs. This would be a data scientist actually sitting on an individual pod team, not in the central data group.
I know central data group data scientists can start at ~125K base / 100K bonus for their first year, but that's a different thing from a quantamental person in a pod.
Work experience in HF industry/data ~1 year, plus several years relevant work experience prior.
Anyone have insight?
I know a VP with 7y of experience and a phd from an Ivy getting 200k base. (excluding signing bonus), I assume bonus is then around 100- 200% of base depending how they attribute his work
b/c you have 1 year of experience (and unless you were working at a FAANG DS team), I would say 150k base.
