Hedge Funds with Longer Investment Horizons?
Are there any hedge funds out there that take longer term positions (eg 2-5 years)?
I like to see what institutions are buying by checking 13Fs, but the data isn't super helpful if it's a "Fast money" hedge fund that is looking to buy/sell within the year (given the potentially 3-4 month delay in the data).
I believe Pershing Square Capital is one where they hold for longer periods. Any others like this?
Not to mention the shops that seem to hold their longs for long period of time, but turning over the short book (which you cannot see via 13F) more often than Leo DiCaprio changes girlfriends.
Yeah that's true - i didn't think about shorting and hedges.
What about Growth Equity groups? EG I see Blackstone has added to their position after one of their growth equity PortCos went public. Do growth equity firms hold their public equity stakes for longer time horizons?
Abdiel seems to have a preternatural tolerance for pain
Looked them up and they seem to fit the bill. Do you mean since they're still holding their Pandemic winners (eg shopify)?
What's happening over at Abdiel culture wise? On whalewhisdom double digit losses past 4 quarters but obviously we do not know the short positions but not sure how much they even short. My fund is long tech so not so good over here :(
Would say that Abrams and Cantillon are two that come to mind
I cannot believe I forgot about Cantillon.
