Hiring process amid corona

Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody has insight on hedge funds hiring right now? Have most of them been put on hold or are there still funds hiring? I was in the middle of multiple processes that began before this coronavirus mess that have since been put on hold, but just wanted to get a sense of what other people have been experiencing. I had been wanting to break in from ER which I’ve been in for two years now, but am considering getting my MBA instead now given it might be hard to get a job in the industry anytime soon. Thanks!

I’m looking for an analyst right now but it’s undoubtedly impacting the process.

Harder to find talented candidates, very different feeing to phone/video interviews, case studies are harder to administer + I’m busier with work than I’d like to be. My goal is to narrow it down to 2 candidates who I can meet in person when we can actually do that and then hire one of them.

I’m sure that some of the slowdown has to do with corona and some has to do with fund performance.

Happy to answer any other questions.

Thanks, I appreciate the response. I guess my other question for you is what can I do to stand out? I have been in sell-side ER for almost two years and I also have my CPA but I am finding it difficult to get interviews or even find which firms are hiring. Do you guys recruit from ER or mainly banking? I have a standard resume, cover letter and investment idea write-up I have been sending around but any other advice on how I could stand out would be helpful. Thanks
