How to communicate understanding of intern/junior analyst roles in an interview

Been hearing that one of the bigger factors in success in an HF interview is communicating to the interviewer your understanding of what your role as an intern/junior analyst at a firm will be. Feel like that's one of the biggest advantages of having an early sophomore/freshman year internship at a small HF as you begin to understand what the day to day, developing an understanding of your coverage universe, taking calls with ER + management, and supporting your analyst looks like (just assuming my interpretation of what's to be expected from a buy side role). Would appreciate more specific details about what intern expectations at a pod shop looks like?
