How to learn more about distressed debt investing
I will be joining a restructuring group next year and am strongly considering recruiting for credit hedge funds. Before I commit to doing so, however, I would like to learn more about the space and maybe run through some case studies. I’ve read Moyer, but I was wondering where else I could learn moreX
Would recommend checking out http://www.distressed-debt-investing.com/ the author is the founder of reorg research. It's definitely older but still has a lot of useful info and walks you through a myriad of distressed situations.
I learnt a ton from:
1) Distressed debt analysis by Moyer 2) Buying/Selling a troubled company from Houlihan Lokey
Distressed debt investing isn't all finance, more closer to 50% finance and 50% legal knowledge (e.g. liens, bankruptcy process, lender/borrower rights etc.)

You can find some primers on different aspects of distressed debt on my website at www.buysidelondon.com as well as short case studies which provide examples of the kind of information and legal inefficiencies that lead to investment opportunities. Add a comment if you find them helpful.
