How to select a few stocks to follow in the market?
Wanting to transfer to a L/S HF in a few years but feel like I need to familiarize myself with the market a little bit more to see if I enjoy the process truly. Have been in private market for 4 years but the public market seems incredibly challenging and interesting so want to be a little more prepared before I start applying. Does anyone have any suggestions on narrow down a few companies that I can model out and start "covering" or any other recommendations on how to prep for this sort of position?
Just pick an industry you find interesting, build depth in a few names and then breadth.
I started doing Life Sciences names and built out from there. Helped getting a job at a pod a lot.
