I'm building my Bloomberg Launchpad this sunday!

Hi, I'm equity analyst at a Big 4 and just received an access to Bloomberg.

Do you have recommandations or template to help me build a efficient LaunchPad view?
I'm not going to stick my face to BBG all second of the day because I'll spend more time modeling and researching.

Also, as fundamental equity analyst, what are the main underrated functions that I should be aware of?

Thx much

Hey there, congrats on getting Bloomberg access! It's a powerful tool and can really help you in your work as an equity analyst.

When it comes to setting up your Bloomberg Launchpad, it's all about what works best for you. However, here are a few tips that might help:

  1. Keep it simple: Don't clutter your screen with too many windows. Stick to the essentials that you need for your work.

  2. Use the News Panel: This is a great way to stay updated on the latest news related to the stocks you're tracking.

  3. Set up a Portfolio Monitor: This allows you to track the performance of your portfolio in real time.

  4. Use the Security Monitor: This gives you a quick overview of a specific security's performance.

As for underrated functions, here are a few that might be useful:

  1. EQS: This is the Equity Screening function. It's a powerful tool that allows you to filter stocks based on a wide range of criteria.

  2. BI: Bloomberg Intelligence provides in-depth research and analysis on industries and companies.

  3. ANR: The Analyst Recommendations function gives you a quick overview of what analysts are saying about a particular stock.

  4. DES: The Description function provides a comprehensive overview of a company, including its business operations, financials, and key executives.

Remember, the key is to make the tool work for you. So don't be afraid to play around with it and customize it to your needs. Happy investing!
