Point72 Academy Case Study

Hi friends, haven't seen a thread about the Point72 Academy recently, so figured I would start one.

I applied for the experienced academy a few days ago and received a case study today. Very odd to me as I've never received a case study before even having an HR screen. Anyway, do we have any idea of odds of actually progressing beyond this round? It's an extremely long case study, which normally I wouldn't mind, however it seems like they send hundreds of these out and hardly anyone progresses beyond this.

Adding to the weirdness is the fact that I didn't even receive the questionnaire that a lot of people have mentioned online. The email with the case study was very curt. This makes me feel the effort is even less likely to yield results.

Thanks!

Same here. Just submitted my case. It’s actually quite an intensive project given most candidates got a day job.

It seems many ppl got case invites. Still curious about when will they get back? Timeline didn’t get mentioned much in old posts, guess primary reason is most ppl got ghosted.

Hey can I ask doing follow-up is actually okay? It seems like everything sent to P72 professionals has to go thru compliance first. Can i just send thank you letter to people who're in charge of my case study directly? Much appreciated!

Curious too... I submitted the case study 1.5wk ago but haven't heard anything back. Hopefully they're still distributing cases and didn't look at our cases yet. Is there a solid no if we don't get responses in a given time-frame?

I have no real knowledge of the exp process but seems like they just spam out case studies and expect to get a handful that are any decent. Since actual HF analysts and SS research flub pod case studies, I get why they weed out at the beginning. Kind of a ridiculous process but unlike UG academy there’s a much higher standard since you’re not a blank slate.

Kind of begs the question why so many sell side researchers apply for the academy, if you’ve got experience just join a pod?

2.5 wks after submitting the case - got recruiter interview - got dinged 5 days after.

Recruiter seems extremely nice and told me many details about the program and upcoming interviews... So strange I got dinged.

Anyone doing/did the case study for undergrad program? If so, how good should your case be? and is the case a huge factor they are looking for, tbf no idea about their recruitment process

Did the case and i would say it is one of the biggest parts of the process. after the resume screening, the case is what they use to see if they want to give you an interview or not. I would put time and effort into the case in order to receive an interview

i also received the case study yesterday without having any phone screening. Looks like they sent out pretty much everyone who applied and was wondering whether it is worth spending on this such a long case if thousands of people are doing this...

I see many people being disappointed about not hearing back, but I have to say I applied regularly without any referrals on their website and heard back on the case study. There is a chance, even if it's a small one... so you never know. Might be worth a shot.
