Interview Stock Pitches

Coming from SS ER and interviewing for MMFH roles, what is the view on pitching stocks under coverage during interviews? As an interviewer, would you prefer to see something outside of this group? How about a non-covered name in the same sector?

Thanks in advance for help - trying to evaluate if I should be putting time into L/S pitches elsewhere or refining ideas I already have conviction in.
