Is the platform race over

Think every PM out there has been hunted by numerous platforms.  Have the big 3 made the race?  Some of the smaller platforms have either shut or never managed to scale.  Anecdotally, rarely have I seen more unprofessional people on the buyside than biz dev guys at smaller platforms.  Is any platform catching up to the big 3 and why?

Completely agree on the unprofessional nature of these BD people.. cough cough Verition cough cough

Bearing in mind first point of contact it’s beyond embarrassing.  Long list of shitcos among platforms.  Some of those guys don’t even know how much money is managed.

Do not think race is over. Just more selective growth again.

Never understood why smaller platforms need BD people anyway.

You need PM managers,  but have at least some professionals.  Reminds me of PBs these days,  complete garbage to a large degree as well.

Comparing MLP biz dev with the rest is day and night.

Who knows maybe mlp snap up Schonfeld if they have another bad year.  So who’s left as contender to the big 3?
